We are thrilled that you want to submit your troupe for the Secret City Improv Festival. Our festival will be held on October 2-4, 2025 at The Grove Theater in Oak Ridge, TN. There is no submission fee for our festival!

Our submission deadline is June 15, 2025.

We will contact teams with results on or before June 30, 2025. Thanks for wanting to come play with us!
First Things First
We need all of this info prior to submission

The team must be available on October 2-4, 2025

Our executive director will call from a (423) area code phone number.
  • If you will be using your musician for your set. We have an electronic baby grand piano at our disposal and a snake that an electric guitar can be plugged into.  We welcome musicians during the festival.  To keep our festival on schedule we will require a sound check no later than 90 minutes before that day's performances begin and will not permit a sound check during intermissions or between performances.
  • If you would like to consult with our musical director we will be happy to coordinate meetings before the festival.  Our musical director is made available as a courtesy of the festival, and there is no charge for using them.

Would You Like To Teach A Workshop or Masterclass? *
Are you (or another member of your troupe) interested in teaching one or more workshops? Workshops are 90 minutes in length and Masterclasses are 3 hours (180 minutes) in length. If selected to teach a masterclass or workshop please plan accordingly to arrive when you are scheduled for your class slot. If you are not going to be able to make your slot please notify the festival within 28 days of the festival so other arrangements can be made and an alternate can be arranged.

If you (or another member of your troupe) is interested in teaching one or more workshops, please describe the workshop(s) - and the instructor's qualifications - in the space above.
Would you like to be considered to teach in the Slayden Intensives?
The Slayden Intensives are our annual program that allows local high school groups to be paired with a performer (or troupe) for a 6 hour crash course. The high school team would then perform in the 5 PM show on Saturday. This does include breakfast, lunch and a festival paid stipend for teaching.
If selected to perform at the 2026 Secret City Improv Comedy Festival, would you like to be considered for an additional performance away from the theater?
The Fine Print
By checking the box you understand that this is an application to perform at the Secret City Improv Festival. You understand that this application is not a guarantee of selection for the Secret City Improv Festival. Some amenities will be provided by the festival, but you are fully responsible for booking/paying for your own travel, accommodations and food. You pledge, if selected, you will conduct yourself in a professional manner while at the festival. You pledge to conduct yourself with respect and pledge to respect the physical spaces, personal property and other people and performers. Most importantly you confirm that you are going to have fun and enjoy yourself, support your fellow improvisers, and not be a catty and/or lame jerk while attending the festival.
